Dismantling and recycling Rare Earth Elements from End-of-life products for the European Green Transition

Indumetal Recycling participates in the REEPRODUCE project to recover permanent magnets contained in WEEE

Indumetal Recycling is involved in the REEPRODUCE project, which began in May 2022 and aims to establish, for the first time in Europe, a value chain for recycling rare-earth permanent magnets at an industrial scale. This innovation will enable the production of new permanent magnets using environmentally friendly technologies, at a competitive cost, and by using end-of-life (EoL) products as a resource.

Led and coordinated by SINTEF (Norway), the REEPRODUCE project brings together 15 partners from different European countries. The partners will work collaboratively on the optimization of technologies, the construction, operation and validation of pilot plants, the assessment of their sustainability performance, as well as on communication, dissemination, and exploitation of the project’s activities and results.

The project will have a duration of four years and has received funding from the European Commission under the Horizon Europe Programme, within the specific topic of Climate-neutral and circular raw materials development (IA).
