WEEE management and recycling process at Indumetal

At Indumetal, we manage waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) through a comprehensive process that ensures compliance with current environmental regulations, as well as the maximum recovery of materials.

The process begins with the selective collection of WEEE from both industrial clients (B2B) and municipal collection infrastructures (B2C). Once received at the plant, the waste undergoes a classification stage, in which it is separated according to its type, composition and treatment requirements, applying specific protocols and safety measures that guarantee traceability and the proper management of each stream.

Next, the decontamination stage is carried out, a critical phase in which hazardous components are removed and managed separately, in accordance with legal requirements. This operation makes it possible to eliminate potentially harmful substances and ensure that the remaining materials can undergo the subsequent recovery process.

The decontaminated waste then moves on to the recycling stage, which consists of a mechanical treatment through which the different materials it contains are shredded and separated. As a result, various recoverable fractions are obtained, including metal and plastic concentrates, among others. These are reintroduced as secondary raw materials into different production chains, thereby contributing to more efficient use of resources, the promotion of the circular economy and the reduction of environmental impact.

WEEE fractions in accordance with Spanish Royal Decree 110/2015.
